Temperature probes which are sometimes also informally called temperature sensors or thermometers are divided into groups according to the purpose and place of use. Our company is specialised in manufacturing temperature probes. We produce temperature probes which are suitable for industrial applications as well as home use.
What is a temperature probe? Temperature probe is mechanically shielded temperature sensor. Temperature probe can have different shapes, depending on the the field of use and mounting preferences.
Depending on the field of use we adjust temperature probe for the use in heating of ventilating systems (HVAC), industrial processes, mechanical engineering applications, for the temperature control in furnaces where the temperatures can exceed 1600°C or in cooling chambers where temperatures fall below -80°C. We also offer temperature probes compliant to HACCP principles for the use in sanitary environments.
TEMPERATURE PROBES WITH CONNECTING CABLE
Most frequently used type of temperature probes are temperature probes with connecting cable.
Maximum temperature of this kind of probes is determined by insulation of connection cable and implemented type of temperature sensor.
In order to chose the right type of cable temperature probe we need to take into account conditions of environment in which the probe will be mounted. Special attention needs to be put on maximum operation temperature and the method of mounting to the place of measurement.
For short response time we use probes with small diameter of protection tube Φ p.
Mounting of cable temperature sensors:
Tha shapes of cable probes in our offer are adjusted for different mounting methods:
- Cable temperature probes with thread connection type AK and BK (bottom left image) are suitable for screwing in ready-made openings.
- Cable temperature probe type CK (top left image) is suitable for screwing to the outer side of walls of tanks, channels, pipes and other places in which we wish to measure temperature of the medium.
- Contact temperature cable probe type KNN (top right image) has pipe clamp attachment and is used for on-pipe mounting on external walls of pipes.
- Temperature probe type BJ with bayonet connector is mounted with the use of PBJ fastener, which mounts the bayonet head of the temperature sensor on one side, and is screwed in pre-prepared opening with standard industrial thread dimensions.
- Basic shape of cable temperature probe type OK is mounted with compression fastener PEK. Mounting examples of OK are shown on the image below.
TEMPERATURE SENSORS FOR MEASURING ROOM TEMPERATURE AND OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE
Affordable temperature sensor type TP is used for measuring temperature in dry and clean spaces.
Temperature sensor type TPC is mounted in damp and polluted spaces, where temperature monitoring is required.
Temperature sensor for measuring outdoor temperature air type TZ is mounted – if possible – on external (shady) northern building wall. Stainless steel protection offer shade for the sensor and protection from mechanical damage.
We also offer temperature transducers, which are composed from temperature sensor and temperature transmitter. They provide one of standard industrial output signals: current 4…20mA output, voltage 0…10V output or RS-485 output with Modbus protocol.
TEMPERATURE PROBES FOR MEASURING TEMPERATURE OF AIR IN AIR DUCTS
Temperature probes type KH and KB are used in air ducts and air chambers for measuring temperatures up to 100°C, for higher temperatures (up to 400°C) we use temperature probe type KBD. All the probes are mounted on the side of air duct or chamber with P12 fastener. Temperature transducer with current 4…20mA output can also be implemented in probes type KB and KBD.
We also offer temperature transducers for measuring temperature in air ducts, which are composed from temperature sensor and temperature transmitter. They provide one of standard industrial output signals: current 4…20mA output (transmitter type KDI), voltage 0…10V output (transmitter type KDU) or RS-485 output with Modbus protocol (transmitter type KDRS).
TEMPERATURE PROBES FOR MEASURING TEMPERATURE OF LIQUIDS
Temperature probe types CH, CB and CBD don’t have an extra immersion tube and are used in places, there immersion tube is already implemented or are mounted without extra immersion tube. In that case we have to empty the medium (water, oil or any other liquid) from the system before changing the probe in case of malfunctioning. The main advantage of this type of probes is the fast response to temperature changes and short immersion length (starting at 50 mm).
Probes types CB and CBD can also have transmitter with current 4-20 mA output implemented.
Probes CVH, CVB and CVBD are composed from immersion sleeve with one of standard industrial threads and measuring insert which is inserted in immersion sleeve. In case of probe malfunctioning the medium doesn’t have to be leaked from the system. Probes type CVDB have elevated head and are therefore used for measuring higher temperatures.
Probes types CVB and CVBD can also have transmitter with current 4-20 mA output implemented.
TEMPERATURE PROBES FOR FOOD AND PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY
This types of probes are implemented in areas where washability of the system is required. They are made entirely from stainless steel and are compliant with all hygiene standards.
